By 2012, in Korea, every 2 out of 10 guys will not have a wife.
At first glance, women might say, “Oh, this is wonderful news, I have a lot of choices in marriage!”
However, this is, in fact, terrible news!
Coming from a Christian woman’s perspective, it means that the chances of finding a MOG or a Man of God is slimming.
MOGs, where are you?!?!

So I’ve been looking at what is keeping Men of God from being everywhere!
Imago Dei was one place I found some type of answer to this tragedy.
Masculinity, Christianity, and our Asian culture are being attacked constantly in the world we live in.
So for a male, who is a Christian in a sex-driven world and living in an Asian society, where some men are prettier than some women, it is discouraging to be “manly”, be asian, and be strong in your faith all at the same time! Such pressure from the media about how to have the perfect body, the perfect face, the perfect personality; from an atheist or agnostic society, how Christianity is a “construct in which to have good morals and have order in society” or that it is for the weak; and from friends, the casual talk of sex, can only lead to such a horrible fate as the decreasing number of MOGs.
Obviously, this is not only a problem for MOGs, but also for Women of God (aka WOGs). If MOGs are decreasing in numbers, WOGs will not be able to establish relationships with strong MOGs to testify to the world what a Christian relationship is or what the relationship between the Church and Christ is.
We must protect ourselves from the worldly things so that the Glory of God can be seen in this world!
MOGs!! Fighting!! I’m rooting for you

One thing to praise God for is seeing many MOGs being molded in His Image in Koinonia. I’m truly excited for God’s plan for each of them and in turn, for Koinonia ^____^

Amen to that. MOGs, where u at? WOGs, continue to have patience for us to-be MOGs. We’re getting there as fast as possible, but only in God’s timing and only through His Spirit’s transformative power. I definitely see God’s work in the guys in Koinonia as well as in you ladies. We just need to continue to have God’s love shoved into our faces, so hard that it gives us a whiplash and to the point that it hurts deeply inside. His Gospel constantly fed into our very beings is what’s going to cause us to become M/W-OG. We need to continue to have faith in His Will and to constantly put ourselves in the uncomfortable position of fighting & wrestling with His love. His love will win. =]
As for us being discouraged by our experiences growing up Asian intertwined with what the media tries to define as ‘asian’ intertwined with our core belief that God is a God who saves us, the weak, I say to us, who are aspiring MOGs,… man up! Jesus manned up when He was five! Any great man of the Bible who did anything spectacular or miraculous with God’s blessing did so sheerly out of manning up and having faith in God, and in God alone. So by manning up, I mean through prayer. Assuming there’s an intimate relationship with God, that Man will find it worth all his while and marbles to fight and struggle to carry his ‘manly’ cross – the cross which makes us manly. Again, His love will win. =]
